Cerys Matthews (born April 11, 1969 in Cardiff, Wales, UK) is singer and songwriter. She was the lead singer of the Welsh rock band Catatonia.
Matthews sang lead on the band's hits, including "Mulder and Scully" and "Road Rage". She also performed a single with the band Space named The Ballad of Tom Jones, in which a story unfolds where the two of them are wanting to kill each other, but then they hear a Tom Jones song which shuns the homicidal feelings; and, together with the Welsh singer Tom Jones, she recorded a version of Frank Loesser's Baby, It's Cold Outside on Jones' album Reload. She was once voted the Sexiest Female in Rock.
