Carolyn Dawn Johnson (born April 30th, 1971 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada) is a country music singer and songwriter. She also plays the piano, guitar, and mandolin. In 1994 she went to Nashville for the first time and traveled back and forth from Canada for three years until she finally settled down permanetly in Nashville in 1997.

Johnson has wrote songs for Patty Loveless, Pam Tillis, Jo Dee Messina, Chely Wright, Mindy McCready, Lila McCann. Her first penned song to go number one on the country charts was "Single White Female" performed by Chely Wright in 1999. Johnson also wrote all her songs on her first album, "Room with a View" and all but one on her sophomore album, "Dress Rehearsal".
