Brian Rosenworcel (born July 23, 1973) is the drummer for the band Guster. Brian is different than most drummers in that he plays with his bare hands rather than with drumsticks for most songs. Instruments he hits with his hands include (but are not limited to) bongos, djembes, snare drums, cymbals, and tambourines. Brian is famous in the Guster community not only for his drumming technique, but also for the authorship of the band's Road and Studio Journals, which are available for public view at Guster's website.
Brian was born on July 23, 1973, making him the youngest of Guster's members. He grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut. During high school, he was in a band called Toejamb. He went on to attend Tufts University, graduating with an American Studies degree. At Tufts, he met Ryan Miller and Adam Gardner, and they formed Guster, playing in Harvard Square among other locations. After college, Brian "blew off academia" and remained Guster's drummer.
