Bob Mould (b. 16 October 1960, Malone, New York) is an American musician, who attended Macalester College, and is principally known for his work as guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for influential 1980s punk rock band Hüsker Dü.

Formed in the late 1970s, Hüsker Dü began as a "speed-core" punk band on the independent label SST. Many of the band's early tracks lasted under 30 seconds. Gradually Mould and bandmates Grant Hart and Greg Norton softened their sound, which became a more conventional forebear of what would soon become known as "alternative rock," and Mould became famous for a grinding but highly tuneful electric guitar style. In the mid-1980s the Hüskers signed a major-label deal with Warner Brothers, but the band released just two records before bitterly splitting up. (The breakup's wounds have never healed and Mould openly broadcasts his loathing for Hart.)
