Blutengel (German: Blood Angel) is a German electro-goth band. It was formed by singer Chris Pohl (also of Terminal Choice, Tumor, Pain of Progress and owner of the Fear Section label) after he had to leave Seelenkrank due to contractual problems. The lyrics are primarily in German and/or English and mixed between male and female vocals paired with electronic sounds and with songs often focusing on all aspects of love, from the tragedy of hopeless romance all the way to the naughtier aspects of desire.

The female vocals were originally performed by Kati Roloff and Nina Bendigkeit. Blutengel's debut album Child of Glass was released in 1999. Although the first album was successful, not much was heard from the band for a while for the next two years while they worked on their next album Seelenschmerz.
