Billy Duffy (b. 1961) was guitarist for The Cult, a British rock band influential in the late-1980s.
He was born William Henry Duffy in 1961 and grew up in Manchester, England, where he began playing guitar at 14. Duffy got his start playing in different punk line-ups in the late 1970s, but these earlier years were more notable for his introducing Johnny Marr to the guitar, and encouraging Steven Morrissey to first sing in a band with him.
