Alexander had a typical childhood growing up in Sendenhorst,Germany with his parents and older sister Melanie. He was an avid soccer player. His talent as a singer was recongized by his parents and his teachers when he was in elementary school. By the time he was 13, Alexander was already taking vocal and piano lessons to strengthen his voice. At the age of 10, he performed Haddaway's "What Is Love".
