Alan White (born 26 May 1972, Eltham, South London) is a British drummer, longtime drummer of British rock group Oasis between 1995 and 2004. He should not be confused with his namesake who is the drummer for the Prog Rock band Yes.
White, replaced original drummer Tony McCaroll in May 1995, during the recording of (What's the Story) Morning Glory— only the track and the video "Some Might Say" features McCaroll. During their first meeting, Noel Gallagher gave White a tape of Shakermaker and told him to go home to learn it. His first gig, the very next day, was Top of the Pops, his second was, even more bigger, Glastonbury, although he had the time to learn the material as Glastonbury is late June. White's brother, Steve White, is also a prolific drummer, and had played with Paul Weller's Style Council (Weller is praised as an initiator of the Britpop movement) and various other famous musicians. Alan had mentioned that Steve also made big impact in his development as a drummer.
