Moreira was born in 1941 in Itaiopolis, and raised Curitiba. He started his carreer at the age of six with some radiotime in his town, and at thireen he became professional. Since then he has played with musicians from all over the world, including (Cannonball Adderley, Lee Morgan, Paul Desmond, Joe Zawinul, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland, Jack De Johnette, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Keith Jarrett, Zakir Hussain, Mickey Hart) He also playd with symphonic orchesters, or alone.
